Structure

The Wilson's Tales Project was originally set up as a not for profit “guarantee” Company under the Companies Act on 20/02/2013 (company number 08412264). It subsequently also registered as a charity (no 1191108) on 2/09/2020. The companies registered Office is in England and therefore all registrations are in England.

Our stated Charitable purpose under our updated constitution is: The charity’s objects are to advance education and arts, culture and heritage through the promotion and reinterpretation of 'Wilson's Tales of the Borders' and the history and heritage behind them.

The Project is run by a board of Directors regarded as the equivalent of Trustees under Charities Act legislation and are responsible for the management and conduct of the project.

The Directors typically meet 4 times a year and create subgroups as required to focus on specific issues or activities.

We also have a group of 12 members from on and outside the board of directors to give a wider base to be accountable and to act as a safeguard and provide over site and who can act as guardians over how we deliver our aims both now and in the future.

We have a groups of volunteer writers, researchers and actors who participate in and support our activities as they choose when opportunities arise.

We invite anyone interested in the project and what we doing to become “Followers”. They receive a free e-newsletter “Followers News” of our activities, research and events. We currently have around 300 of these.
