Wilson’s Tales of the Borders were a 19th-century publishing sensation. Ranging from graphic stories of bloodshed and battle to farcical family comics. This volume brings you:

The Wife or the Wuddy: A reiver lord must choose one knot or the other – the noose or marriage.

The Royal Bridal: A cautionary tale, don’t raise your hand against another in case they turn out to be a particularly vindictive king.

The Disasters of Johnny Armstrong: A lucky windfall turns to misadventure, thanks to a train.

The Maiden Feast of Cairnkibbie: A swashbuckling tale of canny King James V, on a wager to win the people’s hearts.
